SSI FReediver Level 1

Immerse yourself in the world of freediving

WHAT is SSI?

Scuba Schools International kurz SSI wurde 1970 gegründet und ist eine weltweit Ausbildungsorganisation für DiverSSI originally focused on scuba diving and then developed teaching concepts and standards for freediving as well as teaching materials for divers of all training levels. Compared to AIDA, one of the advantages is quality management, so that this franchise should always guarantee the same high quality as other organizations.

Why an SSI Freediver course?

We all start small and so we learn to walk in small steps in the SSI Level 1 course. You will embark weightlessly on your journey into the completely new world of freediving. In this beginners course you will learn one thing in principle: slowing down. You already have everything you need for relaxation breathing and recovery breathing, but with us you will learn to use these breathing techniques consciously. With these tools in hand, we will guide you with safety and technique through the various disciplines of freediving, from time diving to distance diving and finally into deep diving.

We train you so that you can then celebrate your independence with your buddy and dive into your underwater adventure with confidence and new skills. Don't worry if you read the certification requirements below. Rome wasn't built in a day. The most important thing is that you have already taken the first step. Requirements that you don't meet within the course, for example, can be met later. You have a whole year to meet them and get certified.

Course of an SSI Freediver course

Before our first meeting, or at the latest on the first day, we start with a short round of introductions, followed by an introduction to the theory. You will learn everything you need to know for this course. We will do a stretching session, which we will combine with breathing exercises. Then you can get active and we will get ready for time diving (static) and distance diving. You will become the master of your thoughts. After a fortifying lunch break, we will then drive to the lake (Apostelsee near Ettenheim or Matschelsee near Lahr) for an introduction to deep diving.

On the second day we continue directly at one of the lakes and concentrate on the requirements for deep diving. The equalization is one of the more complex key topics, but we can help you with it. This is usually a small challenge at the beginning, but not an obstacle. One thing you should know is that we can all equalize the pressure and the one we need can be learned. I have never had a student who couldn't learn to equalize the pressure. This is called "Frenzeling" properly.

The pressure equalization is my seal of approval!

Quick test for the curious

  1. Put one hand on your stomach and with the other hand hold your nose
  2. Makes pressure equalization

What happened? Can you feel your abdominal muscles equalizing the pressure?

If so, you are "Valsalva", if not, you are either "Frenzeling" or "Handsfree".

I support you with several years of experience as Freediving Instructor and Record Diver

on your new journey.

WE ARE HAPPY LOOKING FORWARD
