Be part of the AIDA Fabiolous Competition

Eine offene Trainingsbasis für Freediver – freies gemeinsames Training, optionale Workshops und strukturierte Formate.

One Week. One Base. Endless Possibilities.

July 16 – 25, 2027

The Freediving Festival Week is intentionally different from a traditional ticketed event with fixed participation requirements.

It's an open meeting place where freedivers can connect, train together and learn from one another – regardless of experience level, certification agency or personal goals.

What Does This Mean in Practice?

The week provides an open space for networking, sharing experiences and diving together.

With your own setup, you can dive independently and free of charge throughout the week.

Workshops and special activities are optional and can be booked individually.

The official competition setup is only available to participants who have booked the relevant activities.

All activities take place at the official setup or in the immediate surrounding area.

The result is a week built around community, mutual support and shared experiences – where everyone decides for themselves how actively and in which activities they want to participate.

Optional Workshops & Training Formats

The Freediving Festival Week is open to everyone.

We also offer optional workshops and structured training sessions for those looking to develop specific skills with professional guidance.

Die Freediving Festival Week ist offen für alle. Zusätzlich bieten wir optionale Workshops und Trainingsformate an, die gezielt vertiefen, strukturieren und begleiten.

The focus is on controlled depth, precise procedures and a thorough understanding of technique and safety. In the darkness, your perception, focus and rhythm begin to shift – movements become slower, distractions fade and every dive feels more intentional. The focus is on calmness, orientation and being fully present in the moment.Erleben des Moments.

This is not performance-oriented training, but an invitation to experience the underwater world at night from a completely different perspective.

Breathwork & Ice Bath with Konstantin

The Breathwork & Ice Bath Workshop is designed for anyone who wants to experience breathing and cold exposure not as a challenge, but as a mindful practice for self-regulation, calmness and presence.

The focus is on functional breathing techniques inspired by the Buteyko method, understanding how your nervous system responds to stress and experiencing a safely guided ice bath. You'll learn how to consciously calm your breathing and build stability before gradually stepping into the cold.

The ice bath is not about pushing yourself to extremes, but about gaining experience. Cold water provides immediate feedback on how your body responds – and how calm, controlled breathing can help you stay present and capable of responding effectively.

Introduction to functional everyday breathing (Buteyko-inspired)

Breathing & the nervous system: understanding and practicing stress regulation

Effects, benefits and potential risks of ice bathing

Guided ice bath experience: mindful and gradual

Post-immersion recovery and integration (breathing, warming up and body awareness)

Konstantin is a certified Buteyko breathing instructor who guides you through the workshop with a calm, structured approach.

Please note: Participation requires good health and sufficient physical fitness. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions or are unsure whether the workshop is suitable for you, please seek medical advice before participating.

The Freediving Festival Week Base

The Freediving Festival Week takes place at Apostelsee, with a shared base serving as the meeting point for training, connecting and preparing for the day ahead. It's where freedivers come together, organize their activities, share experiences and start the day as a community.

The base isn't designed as a traditional event venue, but as a practical, welcoming space – simple, well-organized and open to everyone. It creates a relaxed atmosphere where you can feel at home, whether you're training independently or taking part in a booked activity.

Accommodation & Dining

There are plenty of accommodation options available in the surrounding region. Nearby towns offer guesthouses, holiday apartments, Airbnb rentals and campsites across a wide range of budgets.

We recommend staying in one of the towns between Teningen and Ettenheim, all within a short drive of Lake Apostelsee.

For campervan travelers, there are also some beautiful places to park overnight in the surrounding area – some offering lake views and stunning sunsets, including spots at local wineries.

Camping Right by the Water

One of the highlights is the opportunity to camp right by the water at our festival base. Spaces are limited and subject to availability.

The area around Herbolzheim offers a wide selection of restaurants, supermarkets and cafés. From traditional German cuisine to Italian, Thai and other Asian restaurants, there's something for everyone.
